PSA: I did not eat here so I'm not reviewing the food.
My mom and I came for breakfast, and I was really excited to try it (it's been on my list for a few months). We arrived 10 minutes before they opened, so we just camped out in the car until their opening time. We walked up a few minutes after and the door was locked. We peeked inside and couldn't see anyone. A minute or two later, someone came to the door and opened it for us. No greeting. Just told us to take a menu from the counter and find a seat.
We sat at a table and looked around to take in the scenery. It was quite dark and dingy and didn't look very clean. We waited for 15 minutes; nobody else had entered the restaurant. We were in there by ourselves. Nobody came to take a drink order or say hello. As we're sitting there wondering why nobody has approached us, we hear talking and laughing coming from the kitchen. The staff (2 people) are carrying on together without a care about the customers they just let it in, never greeted, and made get their own menus and seat themselves.
We picked up our stuff and left. They didn't seem to notice that either.
As much as I would like to try the food here, I will never be back. I can't support a business that doesn't care about their customers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer F.Lacey, WA01242Apr 20, 2024
We waited one hour and 45 minutes for our entrees. Mine came out and 25 minutes later the second order came and 20 minutes after that the final order came out. Wait staff attitude is best described as surly and unapologetic. They only accept cash or Venmo payments no cc or debit. Food okay but NOT worth the wait nor the attitude. Give this place a hard pass.

I got word from one of the dozens of random posts on social media feeds you typically see that someone found a neat spot with vegan options outside of Seattle. Fast forward about a year later, I've made a few stops.
Atmosphere ~ 4.5. The first thing that grabbed my attention were the high-back throne chairs amidst their whole aesthetic. Think purple & gold colors plus movies like Alice in Wonderland, Fantasia, Harry Potter(?), etc. And yes, their comfort level is super decent and great for photos. I've never seen these chairs before outside of cartoons. Overall, the space feels rather hippy & boujee in a cool & charming sense.
Staff ~ 3.5/4. Generally they're nonchalant in my experience. You may encounter a few slightly more uppity/enthusiastic in personality, such as Crystal or Toni, but they're often busy with other affairs.
Food ~ 4. I've had a few savory toasts/salad items and the turmeric spiced sweet potato fries. I think the menu is a bit pescatarian(?) but super decent vegan options deep in the south end.
Feedback: service can be YMMV (inconsistent). Sometimes it can feel slightly slow and other times about right. I also tried my 1st smoothie last month and I found a piece of hair in it. I admire the whole concept; just needs to polish a bit around the edges, if you catch my drift.
They also hold a small diverse rotation of evening events. The owner, Toni, is both a wild & wonderful human being at the same time running quite the gem for this area. I try going down a few times a year.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 1, 2022
This place is definitely funky!! Lots of plants and knick knacks with some crazy art and furniture to really tie the whole vibe together.
I wanted to go here for brunch which was a bit complicated by the fact that they didn't open at the stated time. Things happen, I made it work. I kinda really wish this place were a bit cleaner. The menus were as if they'd never seen a wipe down of any kind and the surfaces just seemed a bit grimy. Service was very friendly but not even close to fast.
When it comes to wait times, it was about 30 min for a drink and another 30 for food. An hour for a burrito and a breakfast pizza. Woof! Worth the wait? Not even close. Overall the burrito I had was pretty good, kinda over cooked... I don't really want another one. My dining mate got the pizza and only finished half of it so, also just pretty good. 100% never coming here again, but I like the idea.Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Anjunette A.Fox Island, WA3274718Apr 2, 2023

My husband, friends, and I attended the "Rich & Sexy Circus" burlesque show this evening. The performers were fantastic! The production value was lacking, particularly in the sound department. I felt they needed more "side acts" to fill the spaces between acts to keep the audience piqued. The food was tasty, however the drinks were ridiculously watered down. I ordered two cocktails and a shot and left feeling perfectly sober. I felt they needed more cocktail waitresses as well. I want to go back during the day to try more of the food. For $35 a head I felt this evening's performance was not so much "rich" as it was "sexy." This place is adorable and the staff seems lovely. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt as I see the potential.

It has a very cool vibe and kind of gypsy/hipster kind of style. Definitely for those who are vegan or healthy eaters. However, our food took forever to come out and I'm assuming it's because they don't have a lot of workers, but I don't think it should've taken nearly as long as it did (over 40 minutes) to get all our food out. I started with a plain bagel and my partner got a smoothie, that took at least 25-30 to coke out on its own. We then gone a black bean burger and the açaà bowl.

I loved this place! I've been in this space a few times when the previous cafes here were under different ownership but this latest restaurant, Rise and Shine Cabaret Cafe is definitely the most fun! There were two staff members here that were all dressed up like they were going to a cabaret which is just so cool! The atmosphere is quirky and very intriguing...love the Mad Hatter like chairs in the second room in the back!
The food here is an improvement too! It's very fresh and so very flavorful! I got the Tuscan Toast which was a lot like Australian toast... or toast with guacamole or avocado on it only olives were added to it which made it very different and so very good! Steve got a delicious croissant with pears on it so his menu item choice was excellent as well! We are SO coming back here again for the food and great atmosphere!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0
