Galanga Thai Cuisine

Not sure why it took so long to discover but my new favorite Thai food in Tacoma.

Only negative is on two occasions they were out of a menu item. But what we ordered was great.

We ordered take out and one of the dishes we ordered was yellow curry, they give a boatload of noodles and barely any sauce, uh really? LoL we call them to tell them the mistake they made and they say you can pick up more sauce in an hour, NO THANKS lol

No one knows what they are doing? And they are RUDE, CONDESCENDING TO EVERYONE!! Unacceptable!!!!!

The guy who answers the phone, the first time when my husband calls, he rushes my husband off the phone saying they are slammed and that is a LIE lol, they were so not slammed at all, they lied to get off the phone.

I call them 10 minutes later they guy does same thing to me and then get's condescending to me and says so there was more noodles and sauce, the was put in a seperate in a container and I say that's exactly it, more noodles and hardly any sauce in other container.

This guy was a JERK to put it mildly!

DO NOT GO HERE, THEY ALSO DO NOT OFFER DINE IN!! They give you paper, plates, paper cups, that's their dine in..

STAFF IS RUDE!! If you like rude service then this place is for you! LoL

Rangoon were cute little pockets, drunken noodles were yummy, a good ginger taste. Pad Thai was standard, good pad Thai. The curry however was the disappointment. The chicken was dry (overcooked) and the sauce could have used more flavor. Per another reviewer I ordered 1 less star than normal b/c they said it was hot...it was not. I'd say everything was at least a star lighter than what I'm used to. That's ok b/c I have plenty of hot sauces at home, but ignore that persons review, b/c this place isn't hot. I'd come back for the noodles and maybe try the swimming ramma.

Food was pretty bland. Not bad, but not good. We got chicken Thai fried rice with no pineapple and chicken pad Thai. Forgot to take pictures unfortunately.

After living for a long time in Seattle, our family recently moved to Tacoma. We've been searching for the best Thai food here for about two years. So far, most of the Thai food in Tacoma has been pretty subpar, but we were pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon this place.

We tried the pad see-ew, pineapple fried rice, and the yum woon-sen. All of it was really good! Price is nice and affordable -- and the spices aren't just a bunch of chili flakes dumped on top. Not really a date night place, but it hits the spot for the quality of the food.

Objectively, I'd probably rate the restaurant a 4 out of 5, but it definitely stands out from other Thai joints in Tacoma -- hence the 5 out of 5. Will definitely come back again.

Ordered Pad Thai with chicken and tofu. Hard to mess up this dish but very tasty.
Grubhub makes delivery way more expensive.

Went there because all the high ratings. The service was ok, but we did not find the food anything special.

We ordered feom Galanga tonight. It was so good, I asked to be accommodated for my weird food needs. They were so nice and agreeable and the food was wonderful. Will absolutely order from here again!!

My sister and I came in for the first time after discovering this restaurant on Instagram and were very impressed. Upon entering, we were greeted by the kindest older gentleman and were provided with great service and gained knowledge on the backstory of the establishment. The food was amazing and very worth the price! Incredible Thai food with incredible service and we will be back!

I had a simple meal egg rolls then had rice with chicken and vegetables right after I got done eating it had me running for the bathroom oh by the way the food was pretty tasteless no seasoning i had to add a bunch of chilli sauce and soy sauce for flavor
