A Message from your Commander​

As my volunteer service term, as your Commander, comes to an end I bid you “Farewell and Thank You.” Thank you to our March 2023-May 2024 volunteer Corporate Administrative Assistants, volunteer Building Ops & Maintenance Personnel, volunteer Events, Recreation & Activities workers, and volunteer Troubleshooters. Together with our financial supporters, you have helped keep our building open for business, welcoming to our members, guests, customers & visitors, and safe for all who pass through our doors.

We have grants pending, to provide more public service events: job fairs, workshops, and health fairs. We have more events & activities pending, to provide more for our membership. We have Tacoma Calvary, to provide a steady income. We have hall rentals pending, to provide other income.

​

In June 2024, our nonprofit Post #1 will be led and managed by volunteers. Please join me in supporting our future Commander, Officers & Trustees.

We are WA AMVETS Post #1 Strong!

Second nominations are on Apr. 25th at the Post. We need members to step up to the following AMVETS positions: AMVETS Post 1 Commander, 1st Vice Commander, 2nd Vice Commander, 3rd Vice Commander, Finance Officer, Judge Advocate, Provost Marshall, and Trustee positions 1, 5 & 6.

With Glenn Skinner retiring from his position as Adjutant we need a member who wants to take over this position. You will have big shoes to fill—but you can do it! Please let the Commander or the Adjutant know—or just talk to Glenn to see if you would like to take the position.

Come and join us for the next Post meeting on Thurs. Apr. 25th at 6PM for second nominations and the Post Trustee meeting on Thurs. Apr. 18th at 6PM.
