Get ready for a week of excitement, community spirit, and summer fun as the 67th annual Lakefair Week kicks off at Heritage Park in Olympia! From July 17 to July 21, 2024, this beloved tradition promises five days of unforgettable experiences, making it a must-attend event for residents and visitors alike.

Daily Activities to Enjoy

Lakefair Week offers something for everyone with a diverse range of activities including carnival rides and games, non-profit food concessions, vendor booths, and live entertainment. This community-centric event has been a staple in Thurston County since its inception in 1957, bringing families together for a memorable summer celebration.

Carnival Extravaganza

Feel the thrill of the Funtastic Traveling Shows Carnival! With a wide variety of rides and games catering to all ages, the carnival is sure to delight. Note that wristbands will not be available this year, so be sure to purchase tickets on-site. The carnival hours are:

July 17-18, 2024: Noon - 10 PM
July 19-20, 2024: Noon - 11 PM
July 21, 2024: Noon - Midnight
Spectacular Fireworks

Don't miss the Grand Finale Fireworks display on the last day of Lakefair Week! This dazzling show over Capitol Lake is a community favorite and can be viewed from Heritage Park, Deschutes Pkwy, Capitol Campus, or any vantage point around the lake.

Delicious Food Concessions

Satisfy your taste buds with a variety of dining options from over a dozen local non-profit concessionaires lining Water Street. These vendors rely on Lakefair for a significant portion of their annual funding, so eat up and support the community!

Unique Craft Vendors

Classic Car Show

Grand Parade

Join us for one of the largest parades in the region! The Lakefair Grand Parade features diverse entries and kicks off with pre-parade festivities to get everyone in the spirit.

Senior's Day

Lakefair's "50+ in the Park" offers a day of entertainment, activities, vendors, prizes, and giveaways for our senior community. Located near the main stage at Heritage Park, this event is a great opportunity for seniors to connect and enjoy the festivities.

Entertainment Main Stage

Enjoy live performances from local, regional, and national groups on the main stage throughout the week. Best of all, these performances are admission-free!

About Capital Lakefair
Capital Lakefair is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and giving back to the Thurston County community. Governed by the passionate volunteers known as the Capitalarians, Lakefair operates year-round, supporting various local initiatives and fostering community spirit.

Scholarships and Royalty Tradition

Each year, Lakefair awards scholarships to a new group of young women from local high schools. These scholarships help students pursue higher education and trades, with over $400,000 awarded to date. The Lakefair Royalty Court participates in numerous activities, both locally and regionally, embodying the values of community service and leadership.

Supporting the Community

Lakefair is funded by community contributions, sponsorships, and the proceeds from the annual festival. This support has enabled Lakefair to raise millions for non-profit food vendors and provide a platform for local businesses and artists.

Parking: Due to space constraints downtown, there is no dedicated parking available for the event. Street parking is available in the surrounding area. Visit olympiawa.gov/services/parking_services/index.php for information on street closures.

Pets: Lakefair Week is held at Heritage Park, which is operated by the State of Washington and subject to park regulations. While pets are not prohibited, it is advisable to leave them at home due to the dense crowds and activities. Pets must be leashed and remain close to their handler at all times.
