Description
In his junior year at Western Washington University, Dr. Young met a friend during spring break to go late-night scuba diving for fresh crab. On the return trip, Dr. Young was riding home in a small pick-up truck when his side was stuck by a car going full speed through an intersection. His neck and skull were fractured, his low back was severely injured, and his left arm had such injuries that amputation was seriously considered after infection had set in.

It was a result of this accident, spending weeks in the hospital, and the subsequent rehabilitation that caused Dr. Young to change course from a degree in marine biology and pursue chiropractic medicine. Later, looking back on the poor hospital nutrition, he added nutritional therapy as he progressed through his medical studies, achieving a second doctorate as a Naturopathic Physician.

Dr. Young can relate to car accident and injury victims, and so with a mission to provide compassionate, holistic care to those victims, he founded Lakewood Natural Medicine & Chiropractic. Here, he can help with musculoskeletal rehabilitation, as well as prescribe nutritional therapies where they are appropriate to promote maximum healing and recovery.
